We went to the U.S. Embassy this morning to apply for Manny's visa. We were able to cut through some of the lines, and our rep. told the clerk that our baby was sick, and could we please be rushed through. We were done in an hour. Manny no longer has a fever, but is still pretty congested, so we had him wrapped up for our outing this morning. They approved his Visa and we will be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon at 3:30! That's it, nothing left to do, but come home : )
We'll post more later. Can't wait to see you all!
Love,
Dulcie, Johnny and Manny
Great talking with you this afternoon, Dulcie! Glad I caught you! Safe travels home! We'll be talking to you a LOT in the next few weeks!!
ReplyDeleteYou do not know me but I saw your story and the link to your blog on Kare 11's website. I also saw the comments that were posted by some readers asking why you did not adopt in the U.S. Dulcie, I have to say that you handled that very well and your response to them was right on. Congratulations on finally being able to come home with your son and start living as a family here in Minnesota. Adoption is no easy road, with a lot of struggles, waiting and the what-ifs always on the back of your mind. You have a beautiful baby boy, enjoy him so much as he will change before you know it.
ReplyDeletePrayers for a safe return home for all of you,
Renee
We are glad to hear things are all done! Good to hear you and Manny are feeling better! Hope you can enjoy your last day in Bogota and that you can get all your treasures into your bags!!! :0) Will you be doing some site seeing tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteYour last days there will be filled with mixed emotions..... the excitement of getting home again and starting your life together with Manny, anxiety over how the flights will go with him and saddness over saying goodbye to all your new friends and the country that has given you your most precious gift! We'll be thinking of you!!!
Take care!

Hi Dulcie and Johnny--so glad to hear the Sentencia happened and that the Embassy Apt went smoothly today. I am glad they got you in & out so quickly with you both being ill! What a way to spend your last weekend in Bogota--down and out in bed! We are so happy that your journey-at least this portion of it--is ending in Colombia--to continue in MN! Can't wait to see Manny again as he has grown so much!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
